Yuletide Tales: Warming Whisky Storytelling

1200x720px.png

It’s the most wonderful time of year to have a dram of something smoky and sublime. Particularly in good company. Might we suggest a way to enjoy these together…

We’re not going to accept that this will be a naff Christmas just because 2020 decided not to play fair. It seems to us that, like all good stories do, we bring the tale of 2020 to a heart-warming close. How?

With whisky. Delicious Islay whisky. It just wouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t all unite to celebrate and reflect on the year past and there’s no finer accompaniment to cockle-warming murmurings than the smoky and sweet spirit made on Islay.

Let me put it this way. You’re in a comfy chair. The Christmas playlist is rolling through the classics (and Dominic the Donkey. Stop pretending, you like how bad it is) and you’ve got a fire roaring. Or at least you’ve put a video of a fire on the telly. How do you take the warm and cosy vibes to the next level? Hot Toddies. Except it’s not your average Toddy. It’s a peaty bonfire of a serve. Made with some amazing whisky like… Well, you take a guess. You’ll be the picture of comfort.

Oh, and don’t forget our latest Fireside Session, Yuletide Tales, is taking place this week. If a night of festive fun and whisky sounds like a hell of a Thursday night to you then be sure to tune in on Facebook, Youtube or Streamyard at 8pm (on the 17th, if you haven’t got a calendar handy).

As usual, the wonderful @dr.whisky (aka Sam Simmons) will play host, welcoming an incredible line-up of guests, including Dave Broom, Nicholas Morgan, Struan Grant Ralph, Julie Hamilton and John Glaser, while James Buntin and Ross Blainey will also feature thanks to the magic of pre-recorded video. I hope you’re ready to feel all warm and lovely inside, like when the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes, as we share some more stories and indulge in Islay’s finest.
